Prysmian Group Baltics was awarded the GOLD LEVEL quality label of the Responsible Business Forum Index
Prysmian Group Baltics was awarded the GOLD LEVEL quality label of the Responsible Business Forum Index. This year, the label was awarded to 49 companies and organisations that excel in environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance. The gold label was awarded to 34 companies.
The basis for receiving the label is the index, the methodology of which has been developed in cooperation with international experts. Participants in the Index must fill in a comprehensive questionnaire, after which a panel of ESG experts will assess the responses of the organisation and the rationale behind them. Information is also requested from public authorities. The assessment takes into account the principles of the UN Global Compact, ESG framework for assessment and the UN sustainable development goals. Depending on the score, a company can receive a gold, silver or bronze level label. The responsible business label is issued for a period of two years; the labels were already issued for the 15th time.
According to Liina Kanter, member of the forum board, the label of a responsible business has become a symbol by which businesses and organisations with the same values can be recognised. “As responsible management is becoming a new standard, tools for guiding and measuring change are also evolving, and we are keeping this in mind when developing the index,” said Kanter. “The most important driver of change, however, is the drive to become better and more sustainable in what we do. This is an important contribution to the overall development of the business environment. Economic development and growth will increasingly be linked to environmental protection and social responsibility”.
Kadri Armas, marketing manager of Prysmian Group Baltics, commented on participation in the index: “We have set ourselves the goal of ensuring the sustainability of our processes and protecting the environment. We have been working more systematically on sustainability issues for about two years. We apply the knowledge coming from the international group, but we participated in the index to get an assessment of the activities of the Keila plant. The sustainability issue and the responsibility index are very broad-based, that is, there is something in everyone's work that influences the performance of our activities. The gold label is an assessment and recognition of the efforts of the whole team. We will celebrate this recognition and then get back to work - carrying on with what we have been doing and looking for ways to increase the positive impact both within the company and in the community.”
